Meet The Coaches

Keith Gretzky brings over two decades of hockey operations experience to the Edmonton Oilers organization. Drafted 56th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 1985, he played professionally across the AHL, IHL, ECHL, and Europe before moving into scouting with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2001, rising to Director of Amateur Scouting in 2006. He held the same role with the Boston Bruins starting in 2013 before joining the Oilers organization in 2016. In 2019, he served as the Oilers' interim general manager. He now leads the Bakersfield Condors as General Manager, overseeing player development for the Oilers' AHL affiliate.

Mark brings 25+ years of skill development and coaching experience to the ice — including more than a decade as Skills & Development Coach with the New York Rangers, working with elite NHL players.

Mark also runs his own school, MC Hockey Skills, which has been in operation for 20+ years and is committed to "taking each and every player to the next level of skating."​

Rob was born and raised in the small rural community of Mundare, Alberta, where he first laced up his skates.

While residing in California for the past two decades, Rob has trained dozens of goaltenders—from mites to adults—and has helped develop athletes who have advanced to elite AAA, prep school, and junior hockey. Many of his goalies have achieved significant success, including league titles in SCAHA and CAHA, and even a national championship.

Mitch is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger and current amateur scout for the Edmonton Oilers.

Mitch Holmberg was a first-round selection in the WHL Bantam Draft and went on to play five seasons with the Spokane Chiefs. During his WHL career, he earned First-Team All-Star honours, led the league with 62 goals, and captured the Bobby Clarke Trophy with 118 points.
Following junior, Mitch continued his playing career professionally in the ECHL and later overseas in Hungary’s Mol Liga. After retiring from competitive hockey, he joined the Edmonton Oilers in 2017 as a Western Amateur Scout.
Mitch has also spent several years coaching with the Gretzky Hockey Schools, where his passion for the game shines through in his work with young athletes. Off the ice, he’s a sports fan through and through — and is always up for a round of golf.
